UFLI:
In UFLI we are reviewing all the digraphs: ch, sh, th, ph, wh, ck, ng, and nk. We will also be doing fluency checks to see how they are doing in their reading out loud.
Reading:
In Reading this week we are starting Unit 4: Making History. Our unit question is Why is the past important? Our Weekly Essential question is How do artists of the past help us see the world differently? We will be learning about Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, and Georgia O'Keeffe. We will be learning about the ar sound in words along with inflectional endings -es, and plural -es. The ending -es is added to words that end is s, ch, sh, or x. Adding -es to a noun can make plural nouns or nouns that mean more than one. Adding -es to verbs can show that one person, animal, or thing is doing the action now. We will also be talking about what a Personal Narratives, and Biographies are.
Math:
In Math this week we are starting to talk about when to use the longer than and shorter than words when comparing objects. We will talk about measuring objects and why they must start at the same spot and such as well. We will also be continuing to get more fluent with adding and subtracting numbers between 1-20. Lastly, we will be testing writing our numbers 1-120 this week.
