1st Grade Newsletter February 27-March 3rd


Teachers Coroner:

I cannot believe we are already begining March. This week if you would like to opt out of having your child do the dental screen please turn the back paper in to me by Tuesday. Thursday and Friday are no uniform days. Friday is our spring pictures, family picnic and we will be having the stations of the cross after the picnic and would love if you would join us. We will also be dismissing at 1:00 this Friday and there will be no after school care. If you have not already please sign up for a parent teacher conference time. These will be next Thursday March 9th and spots are filling up. More information on the auction project will be coming out later this week. Thank you for all your patience and time. I hope that you have a wonderful week.

Reading:

In reading this week we will be working on the long i sound as it appears as y, igh, and ie. We will also be learning about insects and how they can be alike and how they are different.

Math:

In Math this week, we will be learning how to measure items using different objects. Please keep practicing the adding and subtracting facts between 0-20.

Religion:

In Religion this week, we will be learning about how the Holy Spirit helps us. Our saint of the week is Saint Paul. Paul also known as Saul, was on his way to arrest Christians when he heard the voice of Jesus. Paul experienced a conversion and spent the rest of his life teaching others about Jesus. Paul's letters are to the early Christians are in the Bible. His feat day is January 25th.
