1st Grade Newsletter October 30-November 3rd


Teachers Notes:

Good Morning Parents! I hope that you had a wonderful weekend and that you are staying warm. Please make sure that your student is coming to school with a jacket as our weather gets colder. Thank you for those who brought food for the teachers for parent teacher conferences. It's hard to believe that the month of October is already at an end. This Tuesday is our Halloween Tiger Day, your student may come in costume we just ask that they do not have full body paint and that their face is not completely covered. This Saturday is our Fall Festival and the opening of our bookfair! We hope to see you all there! Also please send in your reading logs by the end of the week so I get the book it pizza tickets out to your students. Thank you for all that you do and I hope you have an amazing and blessed week.

Important dates:

  • October 31st- Halloween Tiger Day, Parade will start at 12:40, followed by trunk or treat and tiger day activities.

  • November 3rd- Parent picnic at 11:30

  • November 4th- Fall Festival from 6-8pm at St. Andrews

  • November 9th- Veteran's Day Program

  • November 10th- No school day Teacher inservice

  • November 21st- Thanksgiving Feast

  • November 22-24 No school Thanksgiving Break

Homework:

In Reading this week we will be looking at the question: How do animals grow and change? We will be talking about informational text. We will also be working with initial consonant blends.

Math:

In Math this week we will be continuing to find the missing adden to an addition problem. We will also be looking more closely at the addition sign and what it really means.

Religion:

In Religion this week we will be talking about how each of us are important and we were created with a purpose. We will also be talking about the story of the Good Samaritan.
