4th Grade News

Hello!

Can you believe that we are in the final weeks of school?!

This is a very busy time of year. I will try to keep you updated without over loading you with emails. Here are the most important things going on so far:

Science Fair!

Whew! Science fair is over! The kids really did a nice job on all their projects. I hope you had fun as a family and maybe learned a thing or two!

Field Trip

Our class field trip will be on May 17th, 2022 to the Exploration Place in Wichita. We are scheduled to be there from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. That means we will be will not be back before the end of school. If you have bus riders, please make other arrangements that day. We are doing the Exhibits + Dome + Live Science Show. I did not want us to be rushed to get through everything, however, if we get through everything earlier, we can always leave earlier.

We will definitely need drivers for this trip. Let me know by Wednesday May 11, if you can so I can get riders organized. Remember, if you are driving and you have not completed all the paperwork and watched the videos, that must be done in advance and it takes several days to complete including a background check (unless you are only driving your own child).

**I apologize for the misunderstanding! I thought Home and School paid $5 per student and then the parents covered the rest. However, it is parents pay $5 and Home and School covers the rest. I put down $3 on the permission slip form instead of $5. Please send $5 for your child and if you are going as a parent you will need to send an additional $5.

AR Goals! We are down to our last couple of weeks to get our goals done. Goals need to be reached by May 20 to qualify for the party on the 23rd. I really would like to see Mrs. Whitehair KISS A PIG, so lets finish strong!

Battle of the Books!

We had some brave 4th graders battle it out with St. Mary's at Battle of the Books. They did great and it was such a close competition! Congratulations to our participants and congratulations to St. Mary's!

Readers Theater

This week we are completing our Readers Theater projects. Your students have been working hard reading their lines and getting ready to build their sets. We will be preforming our plays for K-2 at the end of the week. If you student comes home asking for props, this is what they are asking for. However, please DO NOT go out and buy anything. It is very low-key and what we can't bring from home or make from supplies from school they do not need!

Thank You!

A special and sincere THANK YOU for spoiling us last week! We teachers know that we are loved!
