Teachers Corner:

Good Morning, I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend. Starting this week we will have the sign up for Parent teacher conferences. If you can't find the link please email me and I will send you the link. Please remember to send in reading logs so we can keep up to date. The auction is coming up so I will be sending out updates over the next few weeks on the project. Thank you for all the parent help and support none of this would be possible without your help. Thank you for all that you do and I hope that you have a wonderful Week.

Important Dates:

  • Feb. 21- Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras Mass at 2:00

  • Feb. 22- Ash Wednesday Mass at 2:00

  • Feb. 24- No uniform day (wear bright colors for the auction class pictures)

  • Feb. 25 1st reconciliation for 2nd graders at 9:00

  • Feb. 28- building committee meeting

  • March 3- Family picnic, stations of the cross at 12:00, No uniform with a canned good, Spring pictures day

  • March 7- School Council meeting

  • March 8- Reading party at 1:00 followed by mass at 2:00

  • March 9- Parent teacher conferences from 12:00-8:00, No School

  • March 10-17 Spring Break

Homework:

  • Monday- No school

  • Tuesday- Read for 10 minutes and study spelling words

  • Wednesday-Read for 10 minutes, study spelling words, math worksheet

Reading:

In reading this week we will be looking at how animals survive in nature and the long o sound like in our spelling words along with words like toe and soap.We will also be continue our comprehension. Our vocabulary words this week are the follow: survive, provide, communicate, superior, wilderness, search, and seek. The sight words this week are find, food, more, over, start, and warm.

Math:

In Math we will continue talking about adding and subtracting and we are going to start talking about how we measure different objects.

Religion:

This week we will be talking about lent and what it represents in our faith. We will also be talking about the gift of the holy spirit. Our saint this week, Saint Turibius, he was born in 1538 and died 1606. Turibius, a judge in Spain, was appointed archbishop of Lima, Peru, in 1580. He visited the Villages in his territory, baptizing and confirming the people. Bishop Turibius built hospitals and became an advocate for the poor. He died during his last missionary journey. He is the patron saint of Latin American Bishops and his feast day is on March 23.
