Teachers Notes:

Hard to believe we are already in the last 9 weeks of school. If you have not already please sign up for a conference time. If you need the link send me an email and I will send you the link as soon as I can. I am so proud of how hard the students have been working this year and I am so sad that we have so little time left. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you and I hope you have a blessed week!

Important Dates:

  • 10 – Enrollment Week for Returning Students; Stations of the Cross, 2:40

  • 11 – No bus services!

  • 12 – we will be having Bus Service

  • 13 – No School, Conferences 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.

  • 14 – No School

  • 17 – 21 Spring Break

  • 28 - Stations of the Cross, 2:40; No Uniform Day with Item for the Food Bank

  • Monday- Read for 10 minutes, Study Math Flashcards

  • Tuesday-Read for 10 minutes, Study Math Flashcards, math SPRINT for 5 minutes

  • Wednesday-Read for 10 minutes, Study Math Flashcards

  • Thursday- Read for 10 minutes

  • Friday-Read for 10 minutes

UFLI:

In UFLI this week we will be working on the long o sound when the word ends in an e like in the words rope, hope, woke, etc. I will be sending home a passage for them to read out loud on Tuesday.

Reading:

In reading this week we will be looking at the endings er, and -est and how we use them to compare things. We will also be learning about the Trigraph -dge and how it makes the /j/ sound. Our question of the week is How can Technology Change the world. we will be reading about virtual reality, self-driving cars, 3D printers, the invention of cars and a story about the railroad. We will also be learning about Historical Fiction and what makes a text historical fiction. In writing we are going to be working on writing things in order of event, using words first, next, then, last. Lastly, we will be reviewing verbs and how to write in future tense with a verb.

Math:

In math we will be continuing with measuring. We will also be starting to really look at the place value of numbers and writing our numbers from 1-120. We will also be working on being more fluent with adding and subtracting numbers.

Religion:

In religion we will be continuing our conversation on LENT and how it is a time for us to be building our relationship with God. We will also be going to Stations of the Cross and we will talk about what the stations are and why it is important for us to remember the stations.
