UFLI:
In UFLI this week we will be reviewing words with the CVe pattern. We will also be learning about the grapheme C spells the /s/ sound when followed by E.
Reading:
In phonics we will be learning about words with the diphthongs oi and oy. Also we will be learning about the vowel digraph ea. The spelling rule for words with oi and oy is that oi can be at the beginning and middle of a word but oy can only come at the end of a word.
Essential Question: Our essential question this week is What can people from the past teach us about helping others?
We will be looking at Biographies and how they are organized.
We will be reviewing capitalization and when we capitalize a word and when we don't.
Lastly, we will be talking about future tense verbs and how to turn a verb into the future tense when writing.
Math:
In math this week we will be working on place value of tens and ones. We are going to be focusing on really understanding what each place stands for and how to quickly identify the number if we are given column of tens and ones.
Religion:
In Religion this week we will be talking about when Mary said yes to having baby Jesus and God's lasting love for us.
Science:
In science this week we will be continuing our discovery of the patterns of the sun and moon.
Social Studies:
In social studies we will be learning about Elanor Roosevelt. We will also be starting our project that is due next Friday where they are to interview an elderly family member and share what they learned from them to the class. They will be creating their own questions to ask and they can bring in a picture if they would like. Please help them get started on this before next week. Thank you!
