Reminder to send in Octobers Reading Log; Novembers reading log will go home today, Monday November 3rd. If you have the BINGO sheet please send that in sometime this week. We will be having a spelling test on Thursday since we will not have school on Friday. I am so proud of all your student's they have been doing such an amazing job this year! I know this may be a little early but I was hoping that we could start working on our class auction project. We will also be reviewing all the rules we have learned so far this year including the FLSZ rule, and Digraphs Sh, Th, Wh, PH, Ch, and CK.
Reading:
In reading this week we will be working on our blending and segmenting skills. We will also be exploring the question "How do animals change with the seasons?" We will be talking about the different seasons and what happens during them. This will be tying in science into the reading unit. We will also be looking at poetry and how it has rhythm and rhyme. We will also be reviewing decoding words with sh, th and ing ending. We will be reviewing interrogative sentences and learn about exclamatory sentences.
Math:
In math we will finish up talking about related addition and subtraction problems. These are problems that have the same three numbers for example: 1+2=3 is related to 3-2=1. Then we will start exploring adding three numbers together when 2 of the numbers add together to make 10. For example: 2+8+2=12.
Religion:
In Religion this week we will be talking about Noah and the Flood. We will talk about the faith that Noah showed when he followed God even though everyone around him were discouraging and hurtful. We will also be talking about how God made a promise to never flood the world again and we see this promise every time we see a rainbow.
