September 21-25th Newsletter

Teachers Notes:

I just wanted to let everyone know that we will not have any new sight words or spelling words this week. As we will be working more on our writing skills. Also, this week we will be starting our safety talks on Friday. Here is the website if you would like to look at before we get started. (https://safersmarterfamilies.org/grades-k-2/ ) Let me know by Thursday if you would like your student to not participate otherwise, they will begin with us on Friday. I hope that you have an amazing day and if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Homework:

• Monday- Read for 10 minutes, practice sight words

• Tuesday- Read for 10 minutes (UFLI reading passage coming home), practice sight words

• Wednesday- Read for 10 minutes, practice sight words

• Thursday- Read for 10 minutes (UFLI reading passage coming home), practice sight words

• Friday- Read for 10 minutes, practice sight words

UFLI:

We will work with words that end in -all, -oll, and -ull. Also we will be talking about the digraph ck. Digraph -ck only comes at the end of a word and it follows a short vowel sound.

Reading:

In Reading this week we will be working on part of a simple sentence. We will be learning about nouns, verbs, adjectives, and simple sentences. We will be practicing our skills on writing a sentence.

Math:

In math this week we will working on our fluency in adding and subtracting numbers between 0-10.

Religion:

In religion this week we will be talking about sin and how God promised us a savior.
