FROM SUPERINTENDENT, Geoff Andrews-

As Catholic families, we are called to stand firm in our faith and defend what is sacred. It has come to our attention that a Black Mass—a direct mockery of our Holy Eucharist—is scheduled to take place at the Kansas State Capitol on March 28. This sacrilegious event is not only an attack on the Catholic faith but an offense to all people of good will.

We cannot remain silent. Let us respond with courage and faith:

  1. Pray Fervently – Join in prayer and fasting for the conversion of those participating in this event. Let us ask Our Lord to transform hearts and bring light where there is darkness.

  2. Speak Out – Contact state officials and respectfully express your opposition to allowing such an event in a government building meant to serve the common good. You can find your legislators by visiting the KS Legislature Page and clicking Find Your Legislator on the left side. There is also an online petition you can sign here.

  3. Stand Together – Encourage fellow Catholics and Christians to unite in peaceful witness to our faith. Consider gathering in prayerful solidarity in Topeka or within your own community.

During this holy season of Lent, let us turn to Christ, deepen our commitment to the truth, and be bold in defending the faith. May our response be one of unwavering love, prayer, and conviction. -Geoff Andrews, Superintendent, Salina Catholic Schools
