St. Andrew's News, January 20, 2023


CONGRATULATIONS!! St Andrews Veteran's Day project for Community Service won the State Award from the Daughters of the American Revolution JAC (Junior American Citizens) contest and has been forwarded to the Division (6 states) which will be judged later this month. Pictured are the fifth graders who led this all-school project, fifth grade teacher Mrs. Anguiano, and representing the local chapter of the

DAR are Dee Marshall and Cassy Wilson.



Congratulations to fourth grader Ava Straight who placed second in the Daughters of the American Revolution's JAC (Junior American Citizens) Stamp Contest and to fifth grader Brooklyn Sluder who placed second in the Poster Contest. Students in grades 3 - 5 learned about the Santa Fe Trail and participated in this year's DAR Contest. This year's theme was, “The 200th Anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail: Moving the Stars and Stripes Westward”. Special thanks to Cassy Wilson for bringing this fun and educational program to our school!

We will have mass next week on Tuesday and Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Please join us if you can. Mass collections in January go to the school auction. Students are encouraged to bring money for mass collections, even if just a coin or two. THANK YOU for teaching your child about the importance of stewardship and helping others.

The TALENT SHOW is coming soon!! If your child would like to participate, tryouts will be held in each classroom and then the top 2 - 3 performances will be presented to the entire school on Friday, February 3 at 12:15.
