4th Grade News

Hello!

My name is Jayme Randles and I have the pleasure to spend this year with your children. This will be my 9th year teaching and I am very excited for this year! I spent time being a stay at home mom for my older three kids and then went back to school and graduated from Sterling College in 2010, I have taught 4th grade 8 years and English as a Second Language for 1 year.

My husband, Alan, and I have been married for 19 years. Alan teaches for the Salina school district and helps coach Abilene Cowboy football. We have 4 children Jackson, 19, Grace, 18, Tristan, 16, and Lucas 5 years. With three in high school and a kindergartner, I am a busy lady!

Please feel free to call me at school or email me if you have any questions or concerns. Please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as I am able.

I look forward for a great year!

Mrs. Randles

A Few Notes about 4th Grade:

I do not believe in giving homework just to give homework. I try to give the students time in class every day to work on their assignments, however, sometimes, it just can’t be avoided. Please double check your child's planner and homework folder for anything that needs to be completed. If there are any assignments that are CIRCLED, it is homework and needs to be completed and brought back the next school day. Also, please sign your child’s planner every night. This is a great tool to know what we are doing in class!

Even though I don't assign homework pages, students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes every night and study spelling words.

Our class does AR and I will be meeting with students in the next couple weeks to set their goals. There are some plans in the works for some AR rewards. Stay tuned!

If you would be interested in driving for any field trips please get with me, Mrs. Herrman, or Mrs. Whitehair. It is a lengthy process and we will need to get you started. I truly appreciate the help in going through this process and driving.

Headphones

I have been informed that headphones/earbuds were not on the school supply list. I thought I was going to be able to come up with enough for our class, however, the ones I have have seen better days. IF you have some extras, would you please send them with your child. I prefer earbuds because of storage issues, but I will take what you have. If this is a problem for your family, please do not worry. I do have some that we can use! My apologies for the oversight.

Birthdays

I am happy to celebrate your child’s birthday. All you need to do is send me a note or email with the date you would like to celebrate. If your child has a summer birthday we could do either the half birthday or the beginning or end of the year. The parties will be at the end of the day.

Be sure to check out Mrs. Whitehair's Newsletter!

As always, email with any questions!

Thank you all,

Mrs. Randles
