In reading this week we are starting our Unit 4. So the Unit 3 book will be coming home on Tuesday, we do not need this back so please do what you would like with this book. Some of the pages are not done but that is because we did something else or had conversations about the page. The Unit 4 essential question is: Why is the past important? Our academic Vocabulary words are: record, supply, necessary, and experience. This week we will be focusing on Artist and how they contribute to history. The essential question for this week is: How do artists of the past help us see the world differently? We will also be talking about time lines. We will look at artists like Pablo Picasso, and Georgia O'Keeffe. Lastly, we will be learning about biographys and autobiographies.

Math:

In math this week we will be working on measuring objects in centimeters using centimeter cubes. We will be placing objects in order from smallest to largest and largest to smallest. We will also ask if it is important for us to identify what we are measuring with or if it is okay for us to measure with anything. Example: measuring with large paper clips vs. small paper clips.

Religion:

In religion this week we will be talking about when Mary said yes to being the mother of Jesus. We will also be talking about Lent and what it means for us as Christians. We will talk about how we are called to work on getting closer to God during this time and preparing our hearts for Easter when Jesus rises from the Dead.

Science:

In Science this week we will be starting to talk about the phases of the moon. We will be making a moon book that shows the different phases of the moon. The weekend of the 21-22nd they will have homework to see if they can identify the phase of the moon that we are in.

This Week we will be talking about Presidents Day. We will talk about former presidents and some of their contributions to our country. We will also be doing a scholastic News on Presidents day.
