Macy's Thanksgiving Parade

Good morning, parents. I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving with your families. I am SO THANKFUL to be your child's teacher. I love working at St. Andrew's. I am grateful for your support at home. Thank you for all you do for our school!

I wanted to share pictures of our floats/balloons even though many of you saw them last week. It was wonderful to have so many guests join us for the Thanksgiving meal last Tuesday. I also wanted to remind you we play bingo THIS FRIDAY at Village Manor, and need drivers. We'll leave the school around 12:40 (please be here at 12:35) and return around 1:15. Please email me and let me know if you can drive by Wednesday. (I can take 5 students in my van, but will need 2-3 more drivers.) Thank you!

Other weekly reminders: Fastbridge testing this week, ITBS testing next week-please have your child get good rest and eat a healthy breakfast each day. If your child wants to bring a healthy snack NEXT WEEK, he or she can! You may send one each day or for the whole week. Fruit, granola bars, crackers, etc. Nothing that needs refrigerated, please.

Wednesday: I'll be gone at a training so the 3rd graders will have a sub. St. Andrew's Feast Day

Friday: Spelling Test, No uniform day w/item for food bank, Family picnic day, Bingo

*FRIDAY DEC. 16: Last day to take AR tests to meet 2nd quarter goal. I met with students today, and several are close, many have a lot of work to do. We adjusted a few of the goals to make them more attainable. We will be reading a couple of books in class totaling 1.5-2.0 points. I know they can do it! They will have extra class time between the testing over the next 2 weeks to read and take quizzes, but should also be reading at home 10-15 minutes each day.

December is a short, busy month. Please read Mrs. Whitehair's weekly newsletter for upcoming dates. Reminder: 2nd & 3rd grade are in charge of Christmas Tiger Day Thursday, Dec. 15, in the afternoon. Thank you, Mrs. Rose, for helping organize this. We'll need help w/prizes and parent helpers to run games that afternoon.
